Hi. American public radio reporter turned YouTube cook Adam Ragusea here. Today, I would like to address my comments to my public broadcasting comrades across the pond. I'm talking about the 20,000 or so people who are still left at the British Broadcasting Corporation. To my friends at the BBC, I ask you,
think it's important that the information you broadcast is accurate? Of course you do. Of course you do. So, why do you keep filling my feed with this guy?
>> The onions, they be minced with the garlic. And it's the same principle as always. You must be now getting bored of me.
Cook your onion to reduce the water content, to remove the acidity. It's as that. >> Yeah, I am getting tired of hearing it, Marco, and not just because you say it every time you sauté an onion. I'm tired of hearing it because it is literally, demonstrably, categorically false.
Cooking an onion does not remove the acidity. >> And same as always, we cook to remove the water content, to remove the acidity.
>> Here, look at this. Video after video in the BBC's Maestro series positioning Marco Pierre White as an unchallenged culinary authority. And in nearly every one of these videos, Marco repeats the same falsehood. And the BBC attaches its imprimatur to this falsehood. And I think that matters. I mean, many things
in this world matter much more, but I think this is a really illustrative case of how truth and fame can often be in conflict with each other. And in that fight, a public broadcaster should be on the side of truth every single time. I mean, cuz otherwise there's no reason for subsidized broadcasting to exist at
all anymore. The unsubsidized media market has never been more vibrant. Yeah, there's a lot of junk on the internet, but that's because there's a lot of everything on the internet.
There's also lots of really, really good for-profit content on the internet that is >> [clears throat] >> supported entirely by its commercial sponsors, such as Function Health, sponsor of today's video. I've been very clear on this channel that I love doctors. I am in awe of mainstream
medicine, but I hate the healthcare system in my country, and I am all about exploring new models. Function is a way for me to gather lots and lots of information about my own body without having to get a permission slip from the healthcare system. Like, I don't care if you think a test is medically necessary.
I'm curious and I want it done as long as it's convenient. And it is convenient. I filled out some stuff on Function's website. They sent me to a local spot where I gave blood and pee samples, and now I have tons of results pouring in. With Function you can test over 100 biomarkers, things that you
wouldn't normally see, everything from stress and inflammation to heart health and even hormones. I'm 44. I want to test my sex hormones every single time I do a blood draw, and I do not need to anyone why. It's my own business. And now I'm following all of those numbers right here on my phone.
