So, my name is Megan. I'm an experience specialist with NNG. Uh, we're really excited today to go a little bit deeper into a framework for designing better filters. Um, so about the webinar, today is a little taste of one of our self-paced courses. It is going to be a one framework and a little little tidbit of our courses. Um, but the whole course covers a whole lot more from choosing the right input controls, where to place filters on a page within your

interface, how to work with your developers, and how to make them accessible. Um, and a bunch of other hands-on activities that really get you into building better filters and sort.

Um, if you want an in-depth guide on how to design filters, that is really what this course is about. Um, designing complex interfaces with things like filters that feel useful and simple can actually be quite hard as I'm assuming some of you know from building some big SAS uh interfaces. Of course, the

filters might look a little straightforward, but there are countless decisions to be made to think about when designing them. And that's why we have this little webinar today to give you a little little introduction on maybe a little way to make it a little bit easier for you and of course your users.

Now I would love to introduce our speaker today, Megan Chan, who is the author um of the course filters and sorting.

Hi everyone. Thank you Megan for the introduction. My name is also Megan. I'm Megan Chan. There are multiple Megan at NG. I am also an experience specialist here at NG and it's great to have all of you here. To introduce myself a little bit more at NNG, my work surrounds emerging technology like AI, also

storytelling and UX and interaction design. So, on the interaction design side of things, we've been studying filtering and sorting for decades at NG, but lately I've been building out our research on that a little bit more, looking into filters, how exactly users find what they need within a set of

results and how we can design good filters and sorting experiences so that our users can achieve those goals, find what they need on our interfaces.

And my recent work at NG has turned into this filters and sorting complete design guide that Megan Brown just mentioned on the previous slide. So today I want to share one of my favorite frameworks from that self-paced course. It's called the prep framework.
